Day 176

Led by my stubborn curiosity
I was trying to find some biographical material
on Marin Marais,
a French composer that
together with Savall and Sainte Colombe
wrote and performed some of the greatest
pieces of the XVIII century,
and perhaps of all times.
Mastering the basse de viol, the violin and the composition techniques
he wrote immortal works such as the five books "Pièces de Viole"
(if you appreciate the baroque music you can but love him)
but not much is available about his private life,
except that he and his wife
Catherine d'Amicourt
had...
19 children !!!!

The only way of understanding
(or not, but at least forgetting)
such a number is to press play
and let his labyrinthical melodies carry me.
