Day 56

Despite my confetti-expat-dimension
Egypt's unrest leaks into my life through media networks,
through sudden deviations of the cab on my way home
or through a twitter search to see if the places I'll visit during the day are safe or not,
not to name the hundred checkpoints everytime we travel.
Violence also seems to be leaking across every dimension of the conflict :
today, early in the morning, the son of a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood's political arm
was beat to death in Zagazig.
The City, in the Nile Delta Sharqiya governorate,
has seen a significant number of mob killings recently.
As the revolution's aftermaths are not over yet,
violence is turning progressively into a personal score-settling.
In addition, as a result of the uprising in 2011,
Egypt has been experiencing a great lack of security forces and control :
clashes, beatings, protests and mob executions are often encouraged by the absence of the police.
However, when present, police has often triggered a more rancorous reaction :
the years of power abuse under Mubarak's regime won't be forgiven easily..
