Day 23

What is it about this short movie that is heating l'orgueil francais ?
Probably the fact that models are represented as prostitutes in the streets of Paris,
weaving half dressed and winking tiredly at passing-by cars.

Once again, here comes the topic of the objectification of the woman.
And it couldn't be more explicit.

Yet, this time I am totally pro this movie.
Why?

Is it lesser harm to show a pair of tits to sell a brand new toothpaste?
Is it lesser harm to have brainless tv assitants worldwide?
Is it lesser harm to be obliged to have "pink quotas" in order to educate people to gender equality?
Is it lesser harm to impose unattainable standards of beauty to the new generations?
Is it lesser harm to chase a model of successfull woman that is shaped on the masculine one?

At least this movie honors the oldest commercialization of women,
probably the one that society forgets most often
(consciously...or not)

And this time,
even prostitutes are dressed Louis Vuitton.
And they probably deserve it.

PS One thing I totally disagree : we cannot have a model of success and beauty that is linked to self-starvation.
This cannot go on like this, it's a social disease that requires a cure.
