Day 233

best Christmas gift ever

What everyone knows
is that the word 'typewriter' cannot go without the name 'Olivetti'.

In particular, it was Camillo Olivetti
who -in 1908, Ivrea- founded
the company,
which was later developed by his son Adriano.

The first typewriter , the M1
was presented in 1911 during the International Fair, in Turin.

But the Olivetti went far beyond mechanics and hand typing,
and crossed its national and continental borders too.
In fact, starting from the 40s
Olivetti approached
- and succeded -
many innovative fields :
printert
calculators
minicomputers
desktop computers
fax
softwares
telecommunication
mobile phones
and
smartphones
(including tablets and apps)

Also, its design was never left on the background :
the work of Giovanni Pintori built the company's identity
and a great attention was paid to the very last detail.

Nevertheless,
Olivetti still holds the place
of the traditional typewriter
in the common perception
