Day 165

Postcards, from Italy...
Sicily
holds a very special place
in my heart.

It was there that I spent several summers
when me and my brother were still in the first decade
of our lives
and there we learnt the majesty
of crystalline waters
the vigour of a midday sun
the fullness of landscapes
the wildness of a dry vegetation
blinded by
 colors, light, sunsets and scents.

Ever since I thrilled
each time that my compass needle
pointed the island as my destination

and still now
I know there's still so much to discover
as the inland, for example
which is an ever changing lanscape
throughout seasons,
mutating from a green sea
rippled by pines
fruit trees
and vineyards

to a golden
limitless field
interrupted by the sharp blue
of the sky
