Day 86

Fivepoints, New York City.

What I see in street art is awareness of life provisional nature
and art.
What I love  of street art is that this awareness comes with no drama,
no romantic introspection or impotence complexes.

What is appealing is its provocative and isolent allegory of life :

art is changing because we no longer have the time to create it?
then the supermarket shutter will be roomy enough to explain it

our efforts and deeds will probably be forgotten in a tweet-time?
then why not tagging every sidewalks with our names

human beings are never (and never will be) near to perfection?
then stratification of graffiti will be the timeline of our improvements

complaint and negativity are a matrix hard to change?
then is better to complain about some colorful scribbles rather then about the dull greyness of cities

politics are useless and things will never be different?
then why not making those folks look more funny adding some spray mustache on their electoral boards

Street art does not take itself too seriously,
because whenever you take life too seriously you'll miss its color.

Ps check out what happened in the last edition of the  UPfest  (Bristol,UK),
Europe's largest graffiti arts festival.
250 artists from across the world, took part in live painting and illustration battles
and here you can have an idea about the amazing atmosphere there :
