Day 42

In Egypt architecture seems to follow a well-know french aphorism :
il faut cultiver son jardin.
Here a multitude of Candides,
called Ahmed, Mohammed or Karim,
applied this philosophic concept to many of the half-done buildings around Cairo :
is not unusual to see high buildings,
with many floors empty or even under construction
that now and then exhibit pink balconies and nicely painted walls.
The idea of painting the whole building in one color once it's finished is an akward concept here,
so that amid the pollution and the chaos sometimes you feel in a paradoxal Burano.
Or in a capitalistic and islamic version of Havana.
